Scott Gardner has 30 years of experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, focused on investments, project finance, and project development. His career has spanned projects and transactions in diverse areas including conventional and renewable power, renewable fuels, waste-to-energy, carbon capture and sequestration, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and midstream, and ports and transportation. Scott is responsible for driving new business development and commercial transactions for H Cycle, including siting, waste sourcing, and hydrogen sales and contracting, as well as joint venture initiatives in Japan and Korea. He also supports the company’s financing and regulatory initiatives.
Previously, Scott was President of Gardner Infrastructure Advisors, a consultancy that advised infrastructure funds and strategic companies on investments and development projects in the renewables space. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President in Private Infrastructure at Partners Group, a Swiss private equity firm, where he led Partners Group’s investment in, and served on the board of, Superior Pipeline Company, a natural gas midstream business, as well as its proposed acquisition of the second largest energy-from-waste business in the US. Prior to joining Partners Group, Scott developed LNG infrastructure projects, including LNG marine terminals and customized fuel delivery systems, for Oaktree Highstar’s portfolio company WesPac Midstream. Before WesPac, he was a Managing Director with US Renewables Group, a renewable energy-focused private equity firm, where among other transactions, he led an investment in Novo Development, a developer of waste-to-power projects. Prior to USRG, he held various roles in mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset management, and business restructuring over 12 years with global electricity company AES Corporation.
Scott holds an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and an AB with honors in engineering and environmental studies from Dartmouth College.
