With over 20 years of commercial and operational experience in the energy sector, Matt Franzen has an extensive and diverse background with expertise in engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations. Throughout his decades-long career, he has overseen the execution of over $1.5B of new, midstream infrastructure projects. Matt is a strategic leader who values integrity and collaboration to ensure a seamless flow of fast-paced operating environments.
Matt’s hands-on leadership style has enabled him to build high-performing, cross-functional teams dedicated to achieving positive results and delivering projects on time and on budget. He has also created and championed policies and procedures that prioritize safety and environmental management.
Before his current role at H Cycle, Matt served as Chief Operations Officer for Evolution Midstream, a full-service, private midstream company that provides innovative solutions across traditional mainstream and sustainable energy values chains. At Evolution, he executed short and long-term plans in the engineering and operations of midstream assets in Wyoming.
In his current position at H Cycle, Matt oversees daily business operations, collaborating closely with the team to reinforce the organization’s day-to-day functions. He also implements policies and best practices that drive H Cycle towards achieving its objective of mitigating the global waste issue and producing low-carbon hydrogen for sectors that face challenges in reducing carbon emissions.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Tulsa and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma State University.
